Privacy
Information about the processing of personal data on fallada.de in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.
The German version of this privacy notice is authoritative. This English translation is provided for information.
This privacy notice explains how personal data is processed when you visit fallada.de. It
describes the technical state of the static website as of 23 July 2026. As soon as further functions
such as the production online forms or additional external media providers are activated, this notice
will be updated accordingly before they are published.
1. Data controller
Hans-Fallada-Gesellschaft e. V.
OT Carwitz
Zum Bohnenwerder 2
17258 Feldberger Seenlandschaft
Germany
Telephone: +49 39831 20359
Email: hfg@fallada.de
2. Hosting and server log data
The website is hosted by the following processor in Germany:
ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich
Proprietor: René Münnich
Hauptstraße 68
02742 Friedersdorf
Germany
Whenever a page is accessed, the web server must process certain data for technical reasons. This may include in particular:
- the IP address of the requesting device,
- the date and time of access,
- the requested address or file and the request method,
- the access status and volume of data transferred,
- the previously visited page, if transmitted by the browser,
- the browser, operating system, language and software version.
This processing is necessary to deliver the website, ensure stable and secure operation and detect attacks or misuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interests lie in providing our website securely, reliably and with as little data processing as possible.
The data is not used for advertising, visitor profiles or audience measurement. According to the hosting provider’s publicly available privacy information, regular log files are deleted after no more than seven days. In the event of a specific security incident, longer retention may be necessary until the incident has been investigated and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims has been completed.
We have entered into a data processing agreement with the hosting provider in accordance with Article 28 GDPR. According to the provider, hosting data is processed on servers in Germany.
3. Static website, local resources and audience measurement
Fonts, stylesheets, scripts, images and preview images are delivered from our own web server. Merely accessing a page therefore does not establish a connection to third-party font, analytics or advertising services.
We currently use neither web analytics nor profiling and do not make automated decisions within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR. External links establish a connection to the respective destination only when you follow the link yourself.
4. Cookies and consent management
The static website does not itself set analytics or advertising cookies. We use neither audience measurement nor personal user profiles.
The website uses its own locally executed consent management for external media. Only after you make a
selection is it stored in your browser’s local storage (localStorage) under the key
fallada-consent-v1. The following information is stored exclusively:
- the version number of the consent settings,
- the time of your most recent selection,
- the status “allowed” or “rejected” for each external media provider.
The selection contains no user identifier, IP address or form data and is not transmitted to us or to a consent management provider. It remains valid for no more than 180 days. You will be asked again after this period, after clearing the browser storage or following a material change to the service configuration.
External services that are not technically necessary are activated only after voluntary consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. You can change your selection at any time via the “Privacy settings” link available on every page. Consent can also be withdrawn directly beside enabled media.
5. External videos and other media
Some pages may display a locally stored preview image for a video provided by Vimeo. No Vimeo player is embedded and no connection to Vimeo is established before you give your express consent. Consent applies to Vimeo as a provider and therefore also to further Vimeo videos on our website. It does not have to be given again for every video.
Only after you select the “Enable video” button does your browser load the player directly from Vimeo. In particular, your IP address, technical device and browser information, the page visited and information about your use of the player may then be transmitted to Vimeo. Vimeo may use cookies or comparable technologies in this process.
The provider is Vimeo.com, Inc., 330 West 34th Street, 10th Floor, New York, New York 10001, USA. Activation is based on your consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. Vimeo states that it is an active participant in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Further information is available in Vimeo’s privacy policy.
After consent is withdrawn, the website removes active players and prevents further embeds from that provider. Because the third-party website is technically separate from ours, we cannot ourselves delete cookies that the provider may already have set. You can remove such data in your browser settings.
YouTube and future external media
The technical interface is also prepared for YouTube and other external media. YouTube videos will likewise be loaded only after separate provider-specific consent. Wherever possible, audio files and MP3 interviews will be served from our own web server. If an external audio provider is used at a later date, that provider will be added as a separate service before publication, together with its provider details, purpose, data transfer and withdrawal option. We do not request blanket consent for providers that are not yet known.
6. Contact by email or telephone
If you contact us by email or telephone, we process the contact details and information that you provide voluntarily in order to handle and answer your enquiry.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in appropriate communication with interested parties, members and partners. If the enquiry concerns membership, an event or another contractual or pre-contractual relationship, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR provides an additional legal basis.
Recipients are limited to the responsible persons within Hans-Fallada-Gesellschaft e. V. and the email and hosting service providers used for technical purposes. We delete the data once the enquiry has been conclusively dealt with and there are no statutory retention obligations or legitimate interests requiring temporary further retention. Correspondence relevant under commercial or tax law may be retained for longer in accordance with the applicable statutory periods.
Ordinary email transmission is not continuously end-to-end encrypted. Please therefore do not send particularly sensitive information by unencrypted email.
7. Online forms
The contact form currently displayed is expressly labelled as a local prototype. It does not transmit or store any entries. Production endpoints for contact enquiries, membership applications and event registrations have not yet been activated.
Before a production form is activated, supplementary information in accordance with Article 13 GDPR will be provided directly beside the form. This information will specify, in particular, the purpose, data fields, legal basis, recipients and deletion criteria. Form data will not be stored permanently on the web server or in a database; it will be sent by email solely to the responsible office for the intended processing. No external CAPTCHA services will be used.
8. Links to Facebook, Instagram and other external websites
Our website does not embed social-media plugins, tracking pixels or content from Facebook or Instagram. These are ordinary links only. Merely visiting our website therefore does not transmit data to these providers. If you follow an external link, the privacy provisions of the respective provider apply.
9. Recipients and transfers to third countries
Personal data is made available only to recipients who require it for the purposes stated above. These include, in particular, the hosting and email service provider as a processor and Vimeo only after you expressly enable a video.
Simply visiting the website does not result in a transfer to a country outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. If you voluntarily load a Vimeo video, data may be processed in the USA. Vimeo states that this transfer is based in particular on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, where applicable, other appropriate safeguards.
10. Your rights
Where the legal requirements are met, you have the following rights in particular:
- access to the personal data processed about you in accordance with Article 15 GDPR,
- rectification of inaccurate data in accordance with Article 16 GDPR,
- erasure in accordance with Article 17 GDPR,
- restriction of processing in accordance with Article 18 GDPR,
- data portability in accordance with Article 20 GDPR,
- objection to processing based on legitimate interests in accordance with Article 21 GDPR,
- withdrawal of consent with effect for the future in accordance with Article 7(3) GDPR.
To exercise your rights, it is sufficient to send a message to the contact address given above. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
11. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The following authority is responsible in particular for our registered office:
Der Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Schloss Schwerin
Lennéstraße 1
19053 Schwerin
Germany
Telephone: +49 385 59494 0
Email: info@datenschutz-mv.de
Website: www.datenschutz-mv.de
12. Encryption and updates
The website is transmitted via HTTPS. This encrypts content and connection data while in transit. We update this privacy notice whenever functions, service providers or the legal situation change.
