Dear visitors,

We want to make it possible for everyone who is interested to visit our museum. Unfortunately, it is not possible to remove every barrier from an old, rambling farmhouse whose authentic character is carefully preserved. However, we make every effort to find individual solutions so that visitors with different disabilities can experience our museum.

Here is the most important information for your visit:

Information for visitors with limited mobility:

The museum has a step-free entrance on the courtyard side that can be used without prior arrangement. The ground floor of the museum and the barn hall are therefore accessible to people using wheelchairs or walking frames. There is only one threshold, at the door to the veranda. Unfortunately, the upper floor can only be reached by stairs.

An accessible toilet is available on the ground floor of the museum. We are happy to provide folding chairs during your visit. Seating is also available within the exhibition.

Information for blind and partially sighted visitors:

The Hans Fallada Museum provides free audio guides for blind and partially sighted visitors and the people accompanying them. Children with visual impairments can use our children’s audio guide free of charge.

Information for deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors:

The Hans Fallada Museum provides free museum guidebooks for deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors and the people accompanying them. Children with hearing impairments can use our children’s puzzle booklet free of charge. Most of its questions relate to things that can be seen or read.

Attending events:

People with disabilities are warmly welcome at our events. To make your visit as pleasant as possible, we appreciate advance notice. This allows us, for example, to provide spaces for wheelchairs when arranging the seating or to reserve seats in the front rows.

Please contact us if you would like to visit. We are always happy to help keep the remaining barriers as low as possible.
