The Hans Fallada Museum in Carwitz houses an extensive exhibition on Hans Fallada’s life and work in seven rooms of his former home. Visitors can see Fallada’s study, the dining room and the veranda, among other rooms, with their original furnishings and numerous documents and photographs. In the former bedroom, the exhibition “Hans Fallada. Places of his life” traces the writer’s eventful life, while the children’s room presents the exhibition “Hans Fallada as a children’s author”. Upstairs, a film room shows documentaries about Fallada. The exhibition also includes the barn, which hosts special exhibitions, and the 15,000-square-metre estate with its bee house, boathouse, triangular flower bed and seating area by the lakeshore.
